Requirements
- Radiographer certification from North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners prior to start date
- Radiographer certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 6 months of start date
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 24 months of start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of start date
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Responsibilities
- Provides the patient and family with appropriate education to optimize their understanding within scope of responsibility
- Assures that a proper order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information prior to performing exam
- Assists the Radiologist/physician with patient exams and notifies them of changes to the patient that may alter exam protocol and performance
- Reviews images for quality and completeness
- Verifies that all images are on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with appropriate paperwork scanned in and distributes exam for interpretation to appropriate radiologist at completion of exam
- Demonstrates regard for patients’ safety and comfort during transportation, immobilization, and positioning of patient
- Prepares pharmaceutical vials for injection, calculates and measures dosage accurately, and administers orally or by intravenous injection (IV) the correct diagnostic or therapeutic dosage and completes all required records
- Maintains accurate and complete record of all material received, dispensed, decayed and disposed of
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization
