Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in quantitative market research, consumer insights, or related field.
- Expertise in applying end-to-end survey methodology, e.g., survey design (including sampling and weighting, bias correction), principled questionnaire construction, instrumentation, and standard methodologies, to company, business, and product goals.
- Strong understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics, such as hypothesis testing, experimentation, correlation vs. causation, and regression modeling.
- Proven experience conducting segmentation studies, market sizing, and audience profiling in a complex or regulated category.
- Deep understanding of population-level datasets (e.g., census, panel data) and their application in strategic research.
- Ability to design and lead foundational market studies (e.g., market entry, growth forecasting, need-state exploration).
- Hands-on experience with programming languages (i.e. SQL, SPSS, R) commonly used for data analysis and visualization.
- Proven ability to scope and manage research projects, transforming ambiguity into clear plans that flex with deadlines and priorities.
- Applied knowledge of and openness to using AI tools (i.e. ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) in research for automation, synthesis and insight acceleration.
- Familiarity in financial services, fintech or payments industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic research efforts such as audience segmentation, market sizing, and brand tracking to inform key business decisions.
- Design and execute audience segmentation frameworks that guide marketing and product development strategies.
- Conduct market sizing and opportunity assessments to support business planning, product strategy, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Leverage population-level datasets (e.g., U.S. Census, syndicated panels) to enrich sample design, validate findings, and ground insights in demographic trends.
- Design and manage Cash App’s brand health program, including survey instruments, metric frameworks, and longitudinal tracking studies.
- Lead cross-functional quantitative research with teams like Product, Marketing, Data Science, and Finance and Strategy to uncover insights that drive product and customer experience innovation.
- Create actionable insights and recommendations from brand and strategic data to inform decisions.
- Be an integral part of developing robust sampling and weighting methodologies for various populations and projects, and streamlining the quantitative research process via automation and standardization.
- Integrate AI techniques into research practices such as using LLM-powered tools for summarizing and generating insights.
- Work with data science teams to combine primary research data with behavioral/log data for richer insights.
- Present insights to executive stakeholders and influence strategic decision-making.
