Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Must be analytical and detail oriented
  • Must be organized, have keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to excel in a fast paced – time critical environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must possess the ability to use sound judgment when making independent decisions
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge and experience with local, state and federal collection laws
  • Familiarity with accessing and interpreting business Trade Reference reports such as Dun & Bradstreet and Equifax
  • Ability to review financial and trade information and make decisions supporting credit limits
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Bi-lingual Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

  • Follow established process for new customer set up and credit investigation and establish credit limits within assigned limit level or refer for approval when outside established limit authority
  • Assess and recommend new credit analysis practices that proactively identify and minimize risks
  • Create and maintain credit history files
  • Respond to credit inquiries from external and internal clients
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including credit hold reports, bad debt reports, new credit application reports and account receivable summaries
  • Analyze and assess the creditworthiness of both new accounts and credit limit increases of existing accounts using external credit risk management tools and reports based previous sales
  • Identify bad debt or financial exposure to leadership
  • Daily/weekly account status reporting
  • Other clerical duties as assigned, faxing, filing, copying, mailing
  • warehouse security, cleanliness and safety standards are adhered to

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years previous credit risk management experience preferred
  • Previous logistics, transportation, domestic or international experience a plus
  • Knowledge of TL, LTL, Import/Export, Customs, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes a plus
