Requirements
- Associates degree in drafting, design or engineering technology or 4 years of equivalent experience in the design of electrical and controls systems
- Must have 5 years (minimum) of experience in engineering drafting and electrical design practices
Responsibilities
- Understand and develop wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, one-line/three-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams and conduit/raceway diagrams
- Produce complex 2D engineering drawings
- Check drawings for accuracy including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards and completeness utilizing correct project design criteria
- Participate in field walk downs as necessary, to obtain measurements, verify as-built documentation, and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations
- Exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead or Engineering
- Support multiple projects concurrently
- Communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings and resolve design discrepancies
- Interface with the customer and their construction representatives to integrate designs to satisfy their standards
