Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and obtained a High School diploma/equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to be at work when scheduled, maintain a good attendance record, and ability to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts.

  • Must be willing and able to work in an environmental and safety compliant environment.
  • Must be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.
  • Eighteen (18) months of related experience.

  • Must be computer literate in software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
  • Must be detailed oriented and can solve complex problems and understand the impact of decisions upon the operation on the facility.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend explicit operating procedures and processes.
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.
  • Must satisfactory complete within 12 months of position assignment and annually thereafter the Training and Certification Program for personnel working in Ammunition Operations as required by AMC Regulation 350-4.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor shipping and receiving activities to assure all operations are performed in accordance with Federal, State, and military regulations and laws; Standing Operating Procedures and Internal Operating Procedures, and that all documentation is complete, correct, and accurate. Has the authority to stop unsafe operations when warranted.
  • Determine if item(s) being shipped are prepared, palletized, marked, etc. in accordance with applicable documentation. Examine ATRs for completeness and accuracy as required. Prepare incoming Material Inspection Plan for all material inspected. Inspect incoming material in accordance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Participate in quality control audits and surveys in production area. Ascertain conformance to engineering and quality requirements and compliance with customer or military specifications. Recommend changes in operational methods and procedures to comply with product requirements. May formulate quality control operations sheets to aid inspections.
  • Perform magazine inspections to include magazine data card accuracy, storage drawings compliance, stock stability, compatibilities, Depot Improvement Plan adequacy, plan-o-graph accuracy, location, count, lot numbers, and housekeeping. Monitor shelf life items and assures items are being rotated.
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.
  • Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training and certification in Munitions Handling and the Transportation of Hazardous Materials is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a hazardous materials environment.
  • Experience in work management/control.
  • Must be able to work independently toward general results, devise new methods, and meet new conditions involving complex work necessitating a high degree of ingenuity, initiative, and judgment.
