Requirements
- Basic Life Support
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assesses patient specific needs preoperatively i.e., resistant organisms, latex allergy, age specific and communicates with the surgical services team members regarding relevant patient and procedure data.
- Communication and Teamwork.
- Meets with anesthesiologists to identify needs of the department.
- Meets with vendors to identify equipment /supplies needed for the department.
- Assists in capital budget process.
- Communicates with the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) regarding necessary changes, supplies/instrumentation needs.
- Communicates conflicts in the OR schedule to the Chief Anesthesiologist/designee.
- Coordinates special procedures with SPD.
- Instructs staff regarding proper usage of and handling of anesthesia equipment.
- Assists with staff Scheduling/coordinates coverage.
- Demonstration of leadership.
- Customer relations and healing environment.
- Ensures positive customer relations through caring behaviors.
- Uses sensitivity in managing difficult or emotional situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician., preferred not required.
