Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Some technical, vocational, or high school programs are preferred.
  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of related experience in a general maintenance environment is required.
  • Minimum 3 years in-house expertise, to include 2 years with strong performance as a packaging technician and thorough knowledge of GMP requirements.
  • Must have good mechanical and basic electrical understanding.

Responsibilities

  • To provide Technical expertise on most packaging equipment/changeovers/repairs/change parts/new equipment installations.
  • Contact and coordinate with other departments or vendors on projects or assigned tasks.
  • Schedule work and delegate responsibilities.
  • Schedule equipment needed for packaging lines.
  • Train and develop packaging technicians.
  • Maintain change parts in good mechanical condition.
  • Perform line tests to determine compatibility of equipment/products/packages, support new product/package changes with change parts identification/design and implementation.
  • Provide electrical/electronic trouble shooting and associated repairs.
  • Disassemble/clean/sanitize product filling equipment.
  • Maintain records/logbooks/etc. as required by MSOP and/or management.
  • Identify and order repair/replacement parts for packaging equipment.
  • Perform other duties as may be required by Supervisor.
  • Perform all equipment technician ‘C’ and ‘B’ duties and responsibilities.
  • Within area of responsibility, understand and comply with all safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
