Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Some technical, vocational, or high school programs are preferred.
- Minimum 7 – 10 years of related experience in a general maintenance environment is required.
- Minimum 3 years in-house expertise, to include 2 years with strong performance as a packaging technician and thorough knowledge of GMP requirements.
- Must have good mechanical and basic electrical understanding.
Responsibilities
- To provide Technical expertise on most packaging equipment/changeovers/repairs/change parts/new equipment installations.
- Contact and coordinate with other departments or vendors on projects or assigned tasks.
- Schedule work and delegate responsibilities.
- Schedule equipment needed for packaging lines.
- Train and develop packaging technicians.
- Maintain change parts in good mechanical condition.
- Perform line tests to determine compatibility of equipment/products/packages, support new product/package changes with change parts identification/design and implementation.
- Provide electrical/electronic trouble shooting and associated repairs.
- Disassemble/clean/sanitize product filling equipment.
- Maintain records/logbooks/etc. as required by MSOP and/or management.
- Identify and order repair/replacement parts for packaging equipment.
- Perform other duties as may be required by Supervisor.
- Perform all equipment technician ‘C’ and ‘B’ duties and responsibilities.
- Within area of responsibility, understand and comply with all safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
