Requirements
- Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
- Minimum of 21 years of age (required to carry firearm).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass basic physical fitness test (one mile run, crawl, push-ups, sit-ups).
- Ability to complete New Mexico Armed Guard Level 3 certification (paid during training).
- Ability to meet (and maintain) minimum standards with Glock 17 pistol and M4 style rifle.
Responsibilities
- Maintain professionalism, while ensuring the highest quality security services in the protection of personnel, property, and information.
- Control access to facility by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and ensuring all personnel have the proper identification and authorization.
- Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives as defined in post orders.
- Perform patrol duties via foot, bike, or vehicle.
- Respond to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents that may occur during day or night.
- Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Respond to situations using the appropriate escalation of force up to and including armed response by following established Use of Force policy.
- Maintain proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
- Complete regularly scheduled training and (re-)certification requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Meet one of the following preferred requirements: two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard); three years of experience in physical security as a security officer (armed or unarmed); Associate degree or higher in security related field; successful completion of an accredited police academy; or any combination of two years’ experience in physical security and military service.
