Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Negotiating, collaborating and conflict resolution skills are required
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of time management
  • Comfortable training large audiences (oral / written / presentation)
  • Technical communication / understanding of company processes
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Customer-focused, team player with ability to interact effectively with all employee levels in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner
  • Ability to exercise initiative, common sense and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
  • Adept at MS 365 Office Suite, MS Visio and able to interpret data and statistics for purposes of grasping real time situations and developing action plans for improvement
  • Strong degree of initiative and judgment
  • Ability to travel frequently within North America
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • A minimum of five (5) years of automotive manufacturing exposure
  • General understanding of the various group functions in a manufacturing operation (e.g. Quality, Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, Logistics)

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform annual assessments at all North American manufacturing plants
  • Present assessment results along with recommendations for improvement to Senior Plant Management
  • Coach manufacturing plants in the development of improvement plans for Magna Factory Concept (MAFACT) / World Class Manufacturing implementations
  • Monitor progress of improvement plan implementation at each manufacturing plant
  • Identify benchmark systems at manufacturing plants and share throughout the Exteriors Group
  • Record and track improvements noted in internal MAFACT assessments performed by the plant
  • Visit and support plants requesting assistance to improve MAFACT / World Class Manufacturing performance / implementation
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Division Leads to facilitate kaizen workshops to implement lean/ TPS/ MAFACT tools and methodologies
  • Develop, update and modify MAFACT / World Class Manufacturing training material as required
  • Participate with other Magna Groups on Magna-wide MAFACT / World Class Manufacturing implementation
  • Support cost saving activities and continuous improvement initiatives at Division level and at the Group level
  • Participate with other Magna Groups on annual MAFACT calibration audits and support Magna Corporate strategy development and deployment
  • Manage on boarding of new MAFACT Leads at Divisions and support their skills development and competence on MAFACT tools and methodologies
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by Supervisor to further competence of Division Leads
  • Maintain MAFACT / World Class Manufacturing information and standards on the company intranet
