Women and Children Clinical Educator

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
BSN required
Three years clinical experience in area of interest required
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
BCLS required
National certification in specialty preferred, encouraged to obtain within one year of hire

Teaches and demonstrates proficiency in patient physical assessment skills, patient care and nursing skills
Reinforces policies and procedures, protocols and guidelines with nursing staff
Coordinates nursing centered rounds and bedside reporting in conjunction with the Nurse Manager/Case Manager
Provides service line specific unit educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and Nursing Practice Development Specialist
Ensures the quality of professional services by demonstrating and maintaining competency through updating knowledge and skills and continuing professional growth
Communicates in an effective, positive, and professional manner role modeling behaviors associated with Wake Forest Baptist Health Behavioral expectations
Collaborates with nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, preceptors and NPDS to design, implement, and evaluate the nursing unit’s orientation and annual needs assessment education plan
Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, co-workers, and facility
Supports provision of age/developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality
