Requirements
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Responsibilities
- Learns about designs of major components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototypes, and promotional or specific products using computer design and engineering systems.
- Gain knowledge in developing and improving products and facilitates in manufacturing operations.
- Assists in developing of data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals.
- Participates in investigation of pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
- Assists in designing, developing and testing metallic or non-metallic structures or materials and their related fabrication processes for use in engineering designs.
- Participates in product development activities, executes tests, and produces parts, designs, or sketches, following all appropriate Mechanical Engineering design, safety, and qualification standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of CAD modeling software such as Siemen NX, Autodesk AutoCAD, or Dassault SolidWorks
- Knowledge of FEA (Ansys or similar) and CFD (Siemens CCM+ or similar) software
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel & PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, and/or Kinematics and Kinetics
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
