Requirements
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- Research experience in one or more of these areas: NLP, speech, machine learning, deep learning, or related fields
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in a technical field such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Research experience in development and implementation of LLM algorithm/systems and model training
- Knowledge of deep learning and neural networks
- Experience working with machine learning libraries like Pytorch
- Familiar with scripting languages such as Python and shell scripts
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Responsibilities
- Perform research tackling unsolved real-world problems and push SOTA Retrieval Augmented Generation
- Design and implement algorithms, train SOTA models and evaluate their performance
- Drive research that can be applied to Meta AI
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience in generative AI and LLM research, and taking the solutions to production
- First author publications experience at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, and ACL)
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and varied points of view to determine a path forward
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
