Requirements

  • Strong understanding of PS&E package development across multiple software design platforms – strong prior experience with both AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microstation desired.
  • A self-starter with excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO guidelines and standards.
  • Experience with local agency, state and federally funded transportation projects including projects delivered in partnership with Caltrans through their oversight process.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments to others, ensuring efficient project execution, efficient delivery and schedule adherence.
  • Capability to provide mentorship to staff within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment and knowledge with staff and peers.
  • Ability to support development of project/client proposals and participate in interviews as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead the production of complex engineering designs, drawings, details, and specifications for various engineering projects, with a focus on transportation systems, such as highways, roadways, and more.
  • Assisting project managers and design managers in developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality plans.
  • Leading a cohesive team, including subconsultants, to achieve project objectives, promoting collaboration, and creating a positive work environment.
  • Actively participating in client relationship management, attending client meetings as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California desired, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • 4+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & municipal engineering, including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus.
