Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Knowledge of network protocols and cybersecurity principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of database design principles, user requirements identification, and the importance of maintaining and updating databases
  • Basic understanding of technical support and enterprise systems
  • Ability to identify business problems that require research and source relevant information; reviews literature/data related to research questions; summarizes information
  • Understanding of implementation objectives, project plans, and one’s role within a project; participates in implementation; provides timely, thorough, and concise updates; identifies areas of risk and communicates them to the project manager
  • Communicates quality assurance methodology and explains desired outcomes of testing; identifies steps in the project lifecycle
  • Basic comprehension of business problems and recommend solutions
  • Proven experience with Linux systems administration
  • Experience with system communications protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP IP, HTTP, FTP, SFTP, USB, MODBUS TCP, RS 232/485, XMPP)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and applications
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Implement security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate and optimize systems
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users
  • Dispatches and supervises external service providers through on-site inspections to ensure work quality
  • Orders equipment and parts from vendors, oversees payment processes, and maintains equipment inventory and project schedules
  • Collaborates with the project team to fully comprehend business requirements
  • Works cross-functionally to integrate various system components
  • Conducts predefined tests to validate end-to-end functionality
  • Reviews training materials for accuracy and completeness
  • Provides on-the-job and formal training to instruct end-users on proper usage of solutions
  • Research available information and gathers data to analyze system issues and recommend solutions
  • Communicate with management teams on all support-related matters
  • Documents system issues and resolutions to prevent recurrences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages
  • Familiarity with OT (Operational Technology) environments
  • Certifications such as RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or similar
  • Experience with Systems Integration of Material Handling Systems (CCD cameras, laser scanners, programmable logic controllers, embedded control devices, and other peripherals)
