Requirements
- Master’s degree with 15 years of experience in naval operations or training systems OR in lieu of degree 30 years of relevant professional experience in naval operations or training systems
- Surface Warfare experience with deep understanding of shipboard operations and training requirements
- Active Secret security clearance required
- Flexibility for travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of comprehensive tracking systems for surface warfare unit readiness and personnel qualifications
- Analyze and document requirements for individual watch stander and watch team qualification, experience, and proficiency data capture
- Collaborate with Surface Training Command stakeholders to ensure system alignment with training continuum requirements
- Develop data architecture and tracking methodologies that support career progression and milestone accomplishment for surface warfare personnel
- Interface with Afloat Training Groups (ATG), Learning Centers (LC), and Engineering Assessment units to gather system requirements
- Create detailed specifications for system functionality that supports the entire surface warfare training lifecycle
- Provide subject matter expertise on surface warfare training processes and readiness assessment methodologies
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate STRMS with existing Navy training and personnel systems
- Develop metrics and reporting capabilities to measure training effectiveness and readiness levels
- Support change management initiatives to ensure successful system adoption across surface warfare commands
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) qualification
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Direct experience with Surface Training Command organizations including: Afloat Training Group (ATG) operations, Learning Center (LC) curriculum development, Engineering Assessment Atlantic/Pacific procedures
