Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering required from an ABET accredited school
- 15+ plus years of experience
- Licensed PE in the State of Illinois
- In depth knowledge of MicroStation Connect and Open Roads
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interface efficiently in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Project and other Microsoft 365 software
Responsibilities
- Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects at any phase from conceptual to final design
- Develop plans, specifications, reports and technical studies, calculate quantities, and develop cost estimates
- Mentor and develop new engineers in infrastructure planning and design
- Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients
- Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects
- Support Project Managers/Project Engineers to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, budget, and quality standards
- Assists in preparing and developing proposals, and presentations as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in 3D modeling is desirable
- Experience with a wide variety of clients and project types across the Midwest is desirable
- Extensive knowledge of IDOT, the Illinois Tollway, CDOT and WisDOT is desirable
- The ideal candidate will want to focus on a technical based career track providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in highway/roadway design and geometrics or traffic and safety engineering
