Requirements
- 8+ years of Hardware design experience
- 3+ years of proven experience with system-level hardware architecture design with MPU/MCU platforms, wireless modules, and antenna integration
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with debugging communication protocols such as UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, USB, MIPI, BLE, Zigbee, Sub-GHz, and Wi-Fi
Responsibilities
- Lead feasibility studies and hardware architecture design based on marketing requirements, including system solution, antenna integration, mechanical design, cost evaluation, and risk mitigation.
- Own schematic design, review PCB layouts, release BOMs, and drive the hardware release process, including DFM and DFT.
- Collaborate with firmware team for board bring-up, verification, and debugging.
- Support quality assurance, production ramp-up, and field issue analysis.
- Assist with regulatory submissions (UL, ETL, FCC, IC, PTCRB, CE) and resolve related hardware issues.
- Work with sourcing and cost engineering to control design cost and lead time.
- Support component selection and qualification with CE/VE teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in schematic design and PCB layout review, with completed product designs released to production (Altium, Mentor Graphics, or Cadence)
- Proficient in hardware verification and debugging, using oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, power analyzers, and spectrum analyzers, etc
- Experience applying EMC/EMI design best practices and driving product through certification (UL, ETL, FCC, IC, PTCRB, CE, etc)
- DFM and DFT implementation experience direct involvement in production transition
- Able to independently troubleshoot hardware issues during bring-up, validation, and field support
- Involved in full product development cycles, not limited to module-level work
- Experience in low-power and battery-powered hardware design
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements for security or sensor products
- Experience supporting production, including board bring-up, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering
- Experience working with ODMs and suppliers to drive cost optimization and lead-time control
- Knowledge of component qualification and alternative source management
- Experience with high-speed digital circuit design, PMIC integration, or RF/antenna tuning
- Strong cross-functional communication and a proactive, solution-driven mindset
