Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, geology, mining engineering, mineral economics, metallurgy, chemical engineering, or a related field
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (including internships or co-op terms) in market research, economic analysis, supply-demand modeling, or industry intelligence
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for data-driven insights
  • Interest in the metals and mining industry and global commodity markets
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and develop analytical perspectives across a range of metals and mining commodities
  • Maintain and enhance a comprehensive database of global mining assets
  • Analyze cost structures, supply-demand dynamics, and project economics at the mine level
  • Provide critical insights that inform strategic decision-making
  • Develop and share knowledge through the creation of insight packs, sector models, and client-ready materials
  • Collaborate closely with McKinsey consultants to deliver high-quality data and analysis that support client engagements
  • Mentor junior team members and coordinate targeted research efforts
