Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
  • Individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), or certification obtained within one year of hire
  • Must obtain a Florida Pharmacy Consultant License and be willing to serve as Consultant Pharmacist of Record for the Free-Standing Emergency Department Pharmacy

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services
  • Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients
  • Provide cost-effective care
  • Be accountable for drug use policy adherence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification
  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
  • Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area: post-graduate year 2 residency (PCY2) or relevant experience
  • Experience in the Emergency Room (ER)
  • Knowledge of EPIC
