Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field, engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred, Architect and or previous lab planner preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in lab management, design, or construction
- Strong understanding of lab safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Excellent project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Familiarity with commercial real estate processes and terminology
- Knowledge of sustainable lab practices and energy efficiency measures
- Certification in project management (PMP) or lab-related field is a plus
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on lab-related projects, managing expectations and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with brokers to understand client requirements and translate them into technical specifications for lab spaces.
- Work with A/E teams to develop and review lab designs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate with JLL PDS to oversee the construction and fit-out of lab spaces, including equipment installation and commissioning.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, including biosafety levels, chemical safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to lab equipment and specialized services.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise during construction or renovation.
- Provide expert advice on lab operations, workflow optimization, and technology integration.
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations in lab design and operations to inform project recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Certification in project management (PMP) or lab-related field is a plus
