Requirements
- GA Positions are open to all Graduate students.
- All students must be enrolled in an American University degree program for the 2025-2026 academic year. As a note, there are no tuition benefits available for this position.
- Candidates must have a strong understanding of various AU platforms for planning, advertising, and promoting CDI signature events, as well as experience or interest in facilitating dialogues and programming that foster meaningful engagement within the campus community.
- Have availability for CORE days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 10am-4pm.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace) and willingness to learn new platforms (e.g., EMS, event management software, Engage).
- Basic budgeting and financial tracking skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on event scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Provides front desk coverage by greeting visitors, answering phones, and performing basic administrative tasks.
- Manage program logistics and implementation of educational programs, workshops, and training.
- Provide collaborative direction with the Assistant Director for National First-Generation Celebration Week.
- Collaborate with other student organizations and campus/community partners.
- Support facilitation and design of educational programs, workshops, and training relating to STEP & District Scholars.
- Create academic support engagements in conjunction with Academic Support for STEP & District Scholars cohorts.
- Manage the daily operations of student success initiatives for current students.
- Working in collaboration with the Assistant Director to continue communication and outreach.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors, venues, and key partners involved in large-scale event execution.
- Oversee on-site event operations and respond proactively to any issues or disruptions that may occur.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of diverse event requirements to support a wide range of programming needs effectively.
