Requirements
- Knowledge of dietetic standards and ability to interact with patient care staff regarding special diet orders
- Ability to communicate with a variety of patients, visitors, and staff members
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
- Ability to read and write simple sentences
- One course or more experience in food service and public relations or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of food service to patients
- Provide direct meal and nourishment service to patients
- Communicate with patients for alternate selections when needed
- Maintain patient kitchen supplies
- Follow sanitation procedures
- Transport tray carts to and from patient kitchens
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
- Use appropriate communication skills
