Requirements
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience with heavy equipment and truck maintenance and repair, crane experience strongly preferred.
- Diesel engine experience
- High School/GED Diploma required unless candidate has 5 years’ verifiable experience in maintenance.

Responsibilities
- The inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment such as Fleet (tractor trailer) vehicles, heavy equipment, and compactors.
- Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level and general condition of rotating equipment throughout the Transfer Station
- Perform welding in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment
- Use various shop equipment in the performance of his/her assigned tasks
- Read and interpret measuring tools, blueprints, P&IDs, graphs and technical manuals

- Follow all health and safety rules and regulations mandated by law and per the policies and procedures
- Keep work area clean, safe and orderly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Compactor maintenance preferred
- Hydraulic and/or pneumatic experience preferred
- Formal technical or apprenticeship training is desired.
- Welding experience, preferred.
