Requirements
- All members of the Refrigeration department shall be certified in the operation of a Refrigeration machinery for operators with more than two years of experience this will be RETA CIRO, Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator, 24-hour hazardous response, confined space entry, and confined space rescue, unless medically unable.
- AAS in Refrigeration Technologies or Industrial Utilities from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one-year previous ammonia industrial refrigeration experience as well as one of the above requirements.
- Ability to interpret piping diagrams, P&ID’s, and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of mechanical repair work principles and techniques including PLC’s.
- Ability to diagnose and determine root cause of mechanical / electrical issues.
- Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
- Advanced knowledge of the factory equipment.
- Minimum of one year experience in a maintenance position.
- Must have own set of hand tools (on good quality, list avail upon request)
- Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Must also demonstrate the ability to maintain the level of performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and perform preventative maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Understand and follow all PSM and other regulatory requirements as assigned.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records.
- Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Understand and follow HACCP and other food safety and security programs.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
