Requirements

  • All members of the Refrigeration department shall be certified in the operation of a Refrigeration machinery for operators with more than two years of experience this will be RETA CIRO, Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator, 24-hour hazardous response, confined space entry, and confined space rescue, unless medically unable.
  • AAS in Refrigeration Technologies or Industrial Utilities from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one-year previous ammonia industrial refrigeration experience as well as one of the above requirements.
  • Ability to interpret piping diagrams, P&ID’s, and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of mechanical repair work principles and techniques including PLC’s.
  • Ability to diagnose and determine root cause of mechanical / electrical issues.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Advanced knowledge of the factory equipment.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a maintenance position.
  • Must have own set of hand tools (on good quality, list avail upon request)
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must also demonstrate the ability to maintain the level of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and perform preventative maintenance activities on ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Understand and follow all PSM and other regulatory requirements as assigned.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records.
  • Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Understand and follow HACCP and other food safety and security programs.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Follow all required work safe practices. This would include lockout-tag out requirements and wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
  • Advanced knowledge of the factory equipment.
