Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biological sciences, engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience working on product transfer, QC processes or a related field or a Masters degree in statistics, biological sciences, engineering or a related field with 3 years of experience working on product transfer, QC processes or a related field or a PhD in statistics, biological sciences, engineering or a related field with 2 years of experience working on product transfer, QC processes or a related field.
- A history of creating meaningful and testable process specifications leading to the production of robust manufacturing processes.
- Strong presentation and communication skills including the ability to explain mathematical gymnastics to a wide audience.
- Strong ability to generate clearly written reports and verbal presentations to technical element teams, technical review boards, Line of Business, Executive Management or one on one.
Responsibilities
- Establish and coordinate the development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall QC process development and transfer to operations via training and documents.
- Design and analyze studies that characterize process development to set meaningful specifications leading to robust process transfer from R&D to operations.
- Identify critical process parameters and conduct/direct experiments using appropriate methods to determine acceptable functional outputs tied to product requirements.
- Create JMP statistical software-based QC data analysis scripts to assist operations personnel quickly know if products meet specifications.
- Lead and participate in project teams across multiple disciplines to create meaningful QC processes and specifications that tie to product requirements.
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to junior employees.
- Consult with colleagues throughout New Product Development to guide them in experimental design and sample size.
- Solve complex problems that do not have routine solutions and takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biological systems is a plus but not required.
