Requirements
- Typically 2+ years of related experience.
- Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.
- Ability to perform basic equipment setup and maintenance activities and display general mechanical aptitude and hand tool competency.
- Able to use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry.
- Ability to learn and perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes.
- Ability to learn 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness.
- Ability to demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment and systems.
- Perform equipment setup and maintenance activities.
- Use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry.
- Perform precision cleaning and chemistry processes.
- Adhere to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements.
- Demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware.
- Apply 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness in daily tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
- Document and report any issues or discrepancies found during inspections and tests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training, degree, or certification in avionics, electronics, or a related technical field.
- Certification: Airman’s certificate, FCC license, or IPC level certification.
- Experience with avionics systems and equipment, including but not limited to navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with avionics testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Knowledge of software tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting of avionics systems.
- Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) principles and their application in avionics systems.
- Experience with soldering and crimping techniques for avionics wiring and connectors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
