Requirements
- Graduate of a school of professional nursing, REQUIRED.
- Previous acute care clinical experience required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital staff, physicians and community resources required.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to work under stress.
- Must have active South Carolina RN license.
Responsibilities
- Utilizing evidence-based practices/guidelines with the goal of preventing healthcare-associated conditions and preventing patient harm.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports opportunities for healthcare-associated conditions and safety events.
- Evaluates patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, hospital policies/procedures and evidence-based practices.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams for implementation of evidence-based guidelines and performance improvement.
- Implements plans, projects and programs to improve clinical outcomes.
- Serves as a mentor to clinical staff, engages in nursing department process improvement efforts and action planning.
