Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Previous experience working in an operating room as an ORA
Responsibilities
- Obtaining equipment, supplies and positioning aids for operative cases
- Assisting with setting up the operating room, holding limbs for surgical prep, and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator
- Dismantling and transporting dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area
- Performing room cleaning and turnover duties between cases and patient transport
- Performing final checks of case carts to ensure that all needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures
