Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience programming industrial robots and cobots
  • Robot end effector design and prototyping
  • Foundational understanding of controls and PLCs
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excited to adopt new manufacturing technologies and demonstrate a creative design process
  • Functional knowledge of vision systems, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics

Responsibilities

  • Conduct trade studies, establish hardware requirements, design mechanical components, and initiate procurement of automated manufacturing process equipment
  • Manage characterization, qualification, and acceptance testing of in-house robotics automation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other subsystem engineers, providing DfX expertise to all product design teams
  • Support digital manufacturing initiatives by simulating production equipment digital twin’s and IIoT device integrations
  • Design for automation and manufacturability for industrialization of new products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD of Science in Industrial, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • ML and machine vision
  • Previously worked with polymer film materials, printed electronics, or complex conveyor systems
  • Passion in origami
