Requirements
- 5-10 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience programming industrial robots and cobots
- Robot end effector design and prototyping
- Foundational understanding of controls and PLCs
- Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
- Excited to adopt new manufacturing technologies and demonstrate a creative design process
- Functional knowledge of vision systems, electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics
Responsibilities
- Conduct trade studies, establish hardware requirements, design mechanical components, and initiate procurement of automated manufacturing process equipment
- Manage characterization, qualification, and acceptance testing of in-house robotics automation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other subsystem engineers, providing DfX expertise to all product design teams
- Support digital manufacturing initiatives by simulating production equipment digital twin’s and IIoT device integrations
- Design for automation and manufacturability for industrialization of new products
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD of Science in Industrial, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- ML and machine vision
- Previously worked with polymer film materials, printed electronics, or complex conveyor systems
- Passion in origami
