Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in design and development of consumer-faced software
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns
- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly
- Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving attitude and analytical skills
- Ability to balance the long-term ‘big picture’ and short-term implications of design decisions
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies
- Advanced Java & Python development experience with building highly scalable applications
- Proficiency in Azure & GCP
- Familiarity with NLP techniques and related algorithms
- Generative AI applications/development experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide
- Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
- Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products
- Writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; collaborating with the project team and cross-functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs
- Seek ways to improve software and its effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture
