Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training
- CPR/ AED/ BLS – Other BLS within 14 days
- Licensed Athletic Trainer (AT) – State Board of Healing Arts upon Hire
- Certified Athletic Trainer – Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC ATC) upon Hire
Responsibilities
- Conducts Athletic Trainer evaluation in accordance with education, training, professional codes of ethics and standards, and department policy and procedure.
- Establishes and carries out treatment programs based on evaluation results and ongoing reassessments of the patient.
- Evaluates effects of treatments and adjusts treatments to achieve optimal benefits and is responsible for recommending adaptive and assistive equipment (e.g., ankle brace, etc.).
- Educates patient and family in a timely manner.
- Confers with physicians and other health care practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment programs and integrate athletic training treatment with other aspects of patient health care.
- Schedules patient treatment times to meet patient needs and to maximize athletic trainer efficiency.
- Prepares written documentation pertaining to patient evaluation and treatment sessions per Department Policy and Procedure.
