Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Graduate from a recognized surgical technology program or has successfully completed military training in surgical technology is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- Illinois: High School Diploma or GED PLUS 3 years working as a Surgical Technologist working in healthcare setting may be considered in lieu of education.
Responsibilities
- Assists surgical team members in providing intraoperative care to the perioperative patient by preparing and monitoring equipment
- Passing instruments
- Maintaining the sterile field
- Assisting with patient transfer/positioning
- Performing a variety of surgical skills and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in surgical technology is preferred
