Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

Responsibilities

  • Advises and acts as a strategic partner with business leaders and colleagues on issues arising within TMs and drives business solutions linked to expertise.
  • Educates clients on the value of IP to their business, and the best ways to build, maintain and protect that equity.
  • Drives mid-term and long-term strategic and operational goals within the department.
  • Leads the development and implementation of world class TM policies and procedures.
  • Drives the development, optimization and implementation of strategies, policies, guidelines, etc. relating to the Trademark portfolios, in cooperation with relevant interfaces.
  • Leads larger TM-related projects.
  • Acts as a resource, coach and coordinator to other department members.
  • Continuously progresses personal and professional skills, strives for excellence beyond the routine.
  • Role-models business partnership and co-operation with all functions within the global Intellectual Property (IP) function.
  • Manage outside counsel, including budgeting and resource optimization.
  • Works to foster a diverse and inclusive environment free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success operating within matrix-driven organization, collaborating effectively across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Experience in brand protection, domain name management, and copyright-related matters.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of driving initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Skilled in developing training, educational content, and impactful presentation materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with law firms, patent offices, government bodies, or health agencies (directly or indirectly).
  • Background in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Exposure to business development and licensing (BD&L) strategies and execution.
  • Familiarity with commercial operations, including marketing, sales, and market access.
  • Ability to navigate and contribute across multiple geographies and cultural contexts.
