Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of secretarial, clerical, office management or administrative experience
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
  • Due to security requirements, the Edison Works Engineering Administrative Assistant must be able to work a majority of time in the office, acknowledging very limited ability to work remotely

Responsibilities

  • Manage personal calendars, travel arrangements, expense reports, and communications.
  • Lead initiatives in resource allocation, facilities, travel, special events, and other projects as required.
  • Professionally handle sensitive information while ensuring confidentiality, and work to build consensus.
  • Communicate with management on logistical, organizational, and resource issues.
  • Proactively identify issues and drive resolution within functional area(s) of expertise.
  • Deliver special meeting/event planning and logistics including off site meetings, team engagement activities, retirement parties, etc.
  • Assist with the onboarding process of new employees, unclassified seating assignments, updating distribution lists, and maintaining organization charts.
  • Learn about Lean business principals and identify and drive process improvements and establish standard work.
  • Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization.
  • Monitor and maintain general consumable office supplies.
  • Draft, review, and send organization wide communications such as organizational announcements, newsletters, engagement events, etc.
  • Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal stakeholders through the analysis and presentation of relevant data.
  • Coordinate customer visits, visitor badging, tour requests, and catering.
  • Aid in communicating and improving company compliance within the section(s).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment that requires high energy and a positive can-do attitude when faced with tight timelines
  • Prior experience working with GE Aviation (Edison Works) financial and program management tools
  • Prior working knowledge of GE Aviation (Edison Works) organizations, policies and procedures, including facilities and indirect sourcing
  • Prior experience working with engineers
  • Prior experience working with DoD customers
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on a teaming environment
  • A demonstrated self-starter with proven ability to perform at a high level autonomously
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
