Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, with proven experience managing a range of employee relations issues.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws, with experience in ensuring legal compliance across HR functions.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Strong organizational and professional skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently and intuitively knows when to inform, verify, collaborate, and escalate.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to build trust and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Provide expert guidance to managers on handling complex employee situations, ensuring a fair and consistent approach to employee relations across the organization.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for addressing workplace issues, including creating training materials and ensuring the consistent application of company policies.
  • Establish, refine, and implement processes related to performance management, employee grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure that all HR processes are effective and align with organizational goals, while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and ensure that company policies and practices are fully compliant, thereby mitigating legal risks.
  • Partner with payroll and other HR functions to review wage and hour compliance, employee classification, and conduct regular HR audits to ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures, communicating any changes effectively across the organization.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including issues related to discrimination, harassment, and other workplace concerns.
  • Ensure that all investigations are handled confidentially, fairly, and in compliance with legal standards.
  • Deliver comprehensive management training programs focused on compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Support the development and implementation of learning programs that drive employee growth and organizational effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization, leveraging resources effectively to influence change and share critical information.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations that enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS systems, particularly Rippling, is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment is a plus.
