Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Senior Designer or in a similar role, preferably within licensed swimwear and private label accounts.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful swimwear designs, particularly in the contemporary space.
- Excellent knowledge of swimwear construction techniques, fabric properties, and fit requirements.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Proficiency in 3D software Browzwear a plus.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends, emerging fashion, and swimwear styles.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of designers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the design and development process for licensed women’s swimwear collections, as well as oversee select private label accounts.
- Conduct extensive research on emerging fashion trends, swimwear styles, colors, prints, and materials.
- Ensure that all swimwear designs maintain consistency with the brand’s identity, values, and guidelines.
- Lead and inspire a small team, providing mentorship, guidance, and direction.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, account management, tech and Asia global teams.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of swimwear construction techniques, fabric properties, and fit requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards, and brand requirements.
- Contribute to seasonal line planning by providing creative ideas and insights based on market research, sales analysis, and consumer feedback.
- Collaborate closely with team to address any issues related to fit, construction, or design.
- Collaborate with licensing partners to maintain brand guidelines and design standards.
