Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-6+ years of related experience required.
  • Demonstrated record of commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity while working with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, take initiative, and work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking skills, and excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use phone, email, and social media to engage with prospective students.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct consistent and regular travel throughout the year. Peak periods of travel take place during the fall and spring; approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 6-8 weeks in the spring.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Word and Excel, managing databases (e.g., Colleague), web applications, CRM and have a willingness to continue to explore the use of technology and social media in the college admissions process.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of a small recruitment territory that helps the University achieve its enrollment goals within a growing market.
  • Planning and attending high school and/or community college visits, college fairs, portfolio reviews, information sessions and receptions within their assigned territory.
  • Building and maintaining personalized working relationships with strategic high schools, secondary school counselors, art teachers, independent counselors, prospective students, families and Lesley alumni.
  • Assisting with overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and managing a small team of assistant directors.
  • Conducting timely outreach using text, phone, email, effectively to move students from inquiry through to enrollment.
  • Presenting key marketing messages and providing academic/artistic information leading to positive and informed decision-making between prospective students and Lesley University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in student recruitment, university admissions, and/or guidance/college counseling preferred.
