Requirements
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or manufacturing field. Masters or MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing in an area such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, automotive, medical devices, power generation systems, or electronics.
- Strong understanding of 3D printing in production, research and prototyping environments.
- 7+ years management of large budgets or profit/loss at a department, program, project or higher level(s).
- Ability to coordinate and guide root cause analysis efforts.
- Leadership experience with fabrication processes, integration processes, systems engineering standard methodologies, test, quality, and configuration management systems.
- Experience in process definition, development, deployment, and improvement.
- Customer relations and expectation management.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the strategic vision for additive manufacturing at Blue Origin.
- Align additive manufacturing initiatives with overall company goals and customer needs.
- Coordinate the development of new additive manufacturing processes and technologies that are scalable, efficient, and meet quality standards.
- Increase production capabilities and efficiency of additive manufacturing processes.
- Champion the digital transformation of manufacturing operations by adopting advanced technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning. Leverage data analytics to optimize production efficiency.
- Work closely with different programs and departments to integrate additive manufacturing solutions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing additive manufacturing team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or technical field, or MBA or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience managing 3D metal and polymer printing in a production environment.
- Experience transitioning manufacturing capabilities from development to production.
- Experience managing facility level capital improvements and upgrades.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Aerospace, space launch, military or commercial aviation, or heavy industrial equipment operational leadership.
