Requirements
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in API management, governance, and security.
- Experience in Operational and/or Development Engineering or Development is highly desired.
- Familiarity with API lifecycle management and performance monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an enterprise-wide API risk management strategy to identify, track, assess, and mitigate risks associated with APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across L2, L3, 2LOD, Risk, etc., to ensure alignment with governance policies.
- Establish and enforce API-specific targeted controls, including IP input validation, rate limiting, and authentication.
- Regularly evaluate potential risks and threat vectors specific to APIs.
- Define and maintain API lifecycle requirements, standards, policies, and procedures related to performance, traffic, design, reporting, and error handling.
- Balance governance and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as they relate to the API lifecycle management framework.
- Enhance visibility into API performance by ensuring all custom-developed API usage is monitored via managed gateways.
- Provide training and support to development teams on API governance best practices.
- Monitor and report on API governance metrics and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Advanced in process and data analysis within a specific domain or functional area utilizing demonstrated critical thinking skills.
