Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent in Finance/Accounting/other related
- Accounting knowledge is a must
- 7+ years experience as financial analyst who has dealt with complex finance situation of clients, comfortable with providing tailored, value-add recommendations based on solid analysis
- Proficient in Excel, preferable in macro and financial models; proficient in PowerPoint.
- An experienced client facing financial advisor with ‘can-do’ mindset
Responsibilities
- Manage as a mini-CFO daily financials of $182MM annual budget and 3 distinct portfolios for 3 VPs under T&O Global Security, incl. daily/monthly actual financial performance and end-to-end Forecast and Planning cycles of the portfolios.
- Provide insightful financial advice and guidance amid complex, ever changing Security landscape through continuously integrating multi-faceted information from varied sources and vetting existing assumptions for the best interest of internal clients.
- Lead and develop efficient financial models to enable real-time financial monitoring as well as streamline monthly financial reporting on Security Large Programs.
- Identify and execute on opportunities to cost saving both in the $182MM portfolio and potential synergies across Security and T&O.
- Act as the go-to person of clients and maintain a high standard of customer/partner service quality by taking proactive ownership and accountability.
- Foresee longer-term challenges and funding implications and make tailored recommendations on a consistent basis to help clients and RBC achieve Security mandate.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Enterprise (i.e., P&CB, CM, WM, etc.) to articulate Security initiatives and their financial impact as well as related benefits on all platforms.
- Tailor stories to each platform and legal entity on their distinctive initiatives and impact on their financials (e.g., cyber investment specifically in US Wealth Management).
- Streamline and simplify end-to-end recovery process through constructive, fact-based reasoning and actual implementation.
- Streamline month-end process to drive efficiencies while not compromising effectiveness through collaborating with Financial Control and other CFO groups.
- Actively involve FC and Accounting Policy Group to align the expectations on accounting treatment and best practices with business partners; serve as bridge to help business connect with right stakeholders in CFO group.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designations in accounting (CPA, CA, CMA) or other related education background
- Master in Business Administration (MBA)
