Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience or 4 years experience with PHD in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance with an adjudication or periodic reinvestigation date within the last 5 years; must be able to maintain the required security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must be able to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) within a period as determined by customer and/or program requirements; must be able to maintain SAP/SAR as a condition of continue employment.
  • ITL v4 Foundations Certification or higher with a Strong knowledge of ITIL principles, particularly Change Management and Capacity Management
  • Experience (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc..)
  • Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks and best practices
  • Experience in discovery tools integration and data management (ServiceNow Discovery, Tenable, SolarWinds, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development, implementation and management of the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) principles, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of CMDB data through regular audits, reviews, and governance.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders to identify configuration items (CIs) and maintain relationships and dependencies within the CMDB.
  • Implement and manage automated asset discovery processes, tools, and integrations with ServiceNow.
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on CMDB and asset management standards and practices.
  • Review hardware architecture changes and capture changes in the CMDB.
  • Establish/create an IT footprint baseline, identify and update drawings to reflect new or upgraded hardware installations.
  • Work with geographically separated team members to maintain up-to-date files, databases and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and improve service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs).
  • Conduct Change Control Board Meetings including setting agendas, keeping minutes and assigning action items.
  • Ensure computing hardware and software, runtime environments, and their data are monitored to find potentially adverse events.
  • Implement and ensure configuration change controls are in place.
  • Continuous improvements for the automation and maintenance of non-discoverable data attributes including integration of other asset management systems as required.
  • Conduct data quality analysis, provide recommendations to address data quality issues, and manage the implementation of approved recommendations.
  • Attend meetings (onsite and virtual) to stay abreast of changes and scheduling needs.
  • Drive continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and optimize engineering operations, incident management, and problem management.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operational incident, knowledge, change, and problem processes and frameworks.
  • Lead outage management efforts, including planning, execution, and post-outage reviews.
  • Develop and implement outage management processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure timely communication and updates during outages.
  • Respond to outages and coordinate support efforts after hours and on weekend/holidays as needed.
