Requirements
- 5+ years of previous experience in the commercial underwriting space (Construction, Casualty, and/or Builder’s Risk experience preferred)
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
- Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written) and a high EQ
- Strong sales and marketing skills to position accounts and close deals
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business and renewals
- Actively identifying target accounts that fit Shepherd’s underwriting appetite
- Demonstrating success in marketing, producer management, and new business development
- Successfully negotiating on all levels with both internal and external partners
- Leveraging technology and data to make quick, informed underwriting decisions tailored to clients’ specific needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction, Casualty, and/or Builder’s Risk experience preferred
- Ability to adapt and be creative in a fast-paced startup environment
