Requirements
- 5+ years in a marketing leadership role at a software, insurance, or fintech (financial services) business
- 2+ years in a product marketing (PMM) specific role
- Direct experience with channel sales GTM motions and creating / owning seller enablement assets
- Direct experience with life cycle / ABM / partner marketing
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or relevant work experience)
- Strong business acumen and willingness to operate in unstructured environments where you’ll own projects independently
- Willingness to create and own copywriting
- Strong sense of design
- Organized and have the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Wear many hats, acting as a marketing generalist and first dedicated marketing leader for the company
- Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan for the organization with measurable results
- Create the necessary narratives and enablement materials to support Shepherd underwriters and distribution partners (brokers)
- Take ownership of Shepherd’s external narrative and product framing as well as direct marketing campaigns
- Carefully apply Shepherd’s brand and story to various product surface areas
- Manage internal and external resources to develop campaigns or marketing initiatives
- Create unique events or customer experiences that drive growth and brand awareness
- Work closely with the Shepherd underwriting team to supplement outreach (production) efforts
- Easily identify connections between various parts of the insurance stakeholder chain and incorporate those insights into marketing strategy
- Be responsible for growth oriented KPIs and other measurable outputs
- Take an active role in company leadership
- Be adaptable and creative in a fast paced startup environment
- Effectively communicate with underwriting, product and engineering teams
