Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior MA experience required
- Must obtain BLS issued by AHA within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care activities
- Manage patient medical history information
- Navigate electronic health records system (EPIC)
- Schedule and follow-up with appointments
- Assist with medication fill and refill requests
- Check for prior authorizations
- Schedule tests, procedures, consultations, and other in basket types as assigned
- Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful manner
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited institution preferred
