Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in program coordination and/or student affairs in a higher education setting; or Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience
  • Experience working effectively with faculty, students, administrators, vendors, and community partners.
  • Experience managing complicated university and/or government policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate to a large and varied population.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and accurately under pressure of established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and managing team dynamics.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc., and comfort learning new technologies.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, both at the University and remote locations and to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Direct high-level administration of BBA International Programming, including event and program promotions and marketing efforts, admissions decisions and processes, and pre-departure activities. Facilitate advanced contract processes, including negotiating payments, terms and conditions. Manage policy creation across all program types, including enrollment forms, petition for refunds, withdrawal policies, and student conduct. Direct all IP Scholarship funding allocations, selections and application through UT’s LASSO system.
  • Partner with all external stakeholders associated with international programming, including international partner school contacts and study abroad providers, as well as global Alumni to ensure successful implementation of the BBA Program’s international education goals. Serve as primary point of contact for internal University departments included Texas Global, Global Risk and Safety, Business Contracts Office, Office of Financial Aid, University Health Services, and Registrar, BBA Program advisors and administrators, and academic departments to coordinate procedures and recommend policies. Serve as Risk Management Officer and student emergency contact for high level IP student situations.
  • Lead daily operations of the BBA International Programs team and physical space, serving as point person for the area. Establish Annual calendar of events. Manage an annual budget of approximately $1.5M.
  • Directly supervise, evaluate and set performance objectives and goals for the International Programs team, which includes full-time exempt and non-exempt staff members.
  • Lead the advanced strategy, design and administration of new and changing program initiatives; assess unmet needs and analyze potential new programming, implementing where appropriate. Expand oversight of data collection, statistical analysis and reporting to inform strategic planning and fundraising efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a higher education environment, specifically with study abroad programs and processes.
  • Previous supervision experience.
  • Demonstrated success in solving difficult problems and navigating a highly complex organization.
  • Demonstrated success in budget oversight and management.
  • Familiarity with University of Texas policies, procedures, and administrative systems.
  • Experience studying, living, or working abroad.
