Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience in the Quality Assurance function
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science in Business, Engineering or Manufacturing preferred
  • One year experience in manufacturing operations preferred
  • A working knowledge of CNC Equipment, Robotics, & Automation and dip tank operation would be helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Oversees that the below skills are implemented and maintained: Safety, Productivity, Conduct, Housekeeping/5S, Quality, Proper Machine Operation
  • Verifies that documented procedures and instructions are being followed: Standard Operating Procedures, Rework Instructions, Work Instructions, Preventive Maintenance Instructions, Inspection Instructions (MQP), Reaction Plans, Process Set-up Instructions, Associate Handbook, Monitor Housekeeping/5S, Posted Work Instructions, Boundary Samples
  • Frequently reviews the quality of products following each process and provide immediate feedback to Machine Line Specialists
  • Generate and recommend solutions to production problems and suggest corrective action to ensure quality standards, policies and procedures are adhered too
  • Assign, train and rotate Machine Line Specialists in an effort to build a solid team
  • Facilitates communication: Between operations within assigned Lines, Develop action plans to increase productivity and scrap reduction, Hold overlap communications meetings, Conduct meetings with Team Leaders, Managers, Maintenance Specialists, Between Lines, Between Shifts
  • Check and report status of supplies at the operation line and inventory levels
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels
  • Prioritize, organize plant operations
  • Maintain a motivational climate of continuous improvement
  • Anticipate, analyze, and diagnose production problems (tooling problems, equipment malfunctions, material or labor shortages, etc.)
  • Maintains assigned roster and crews, Works with team on changeovers/setups at required operations
  • Plan changes for minimum disruption
  • Insure production is recorded and verify the following for accuracy: Operation Productivity & Scrap Accountability Logsheets, Feedback on process and operation
  • Provide input to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, etc.
  • Monitor accuracy of production and quality reporting information with accountability for accuracy for crews/shifts
  • Implement and monitor all safety procedures with appropriate follow-up and corrective actions for unsafe conditions
  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this position is responsible for other tasks as assigned
