Underwriting Manager – Corporate Accounts Professional Liability/Cyber – Financial Lines

Requirements

• Extensive underwriting experience in Financial Lines products (D&O, EPL, PTL, Cyber, Fidelity) and a successful record of selling products to clients.
• Deep technical expertise of US financial lines in order to provide technical direction to management, less senior underwriting staff, producers, and claims adjusting personnel.
• Proven people management skills and a record of developing more junior colleagues.
• The ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and sales-orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Managing colleagues and overseeing a range of programs and processes, in addition to handling complex underwriting.
• Balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders and making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, judgment, and a risk mindset.
• Building effective relationships with brokers and delivering a high standard of customer service as an example for the team to follow.
• Driving consistent underwriting best practices and guidelines, in accordance with underwriting guidelines, to ensure rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring adequacy.
• Promoting a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and learning while mentoring and developing colleagues through effective leadership, role modeling, and training programs.
• Facilitating personal growth and career development, supporting succession planning.
• Playing a key role in new business development, including attending broker events and building new relationships across the market.
