Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering or similar field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar
  • Ability to generate solutions for technical issues in hypersonic weapons system development
  • Experience in supporting the development of junior team members through mentorship
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance required, Top Secret preferred
  • Experience with system requirements generation and decomposition
  • Experience with trade study execution
  • Experience with system integration and interface coordination
  • Experience with verification and validation
  • Experience in multiple domains such as aerodynamics, aerothermal, trajectory simulation, material response, mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal analysis, ground test planning and execution, flight test planning and execution, range safety analysis, and payload integration

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems development and modeling and simulation efforts
  • Define analysis and test roadmaps to validate performance of hypersonic systems
  • Integrate results of analysis and tests into comprehensive customer deliverables
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to define system level requirements
  • Define plans including design requirements, allocations, and M&S plans for execution
  • Develop system level critical thinking skill sets for less experienced engineers
  • Effectively communicate issues and results to internal team members and customers
  • Provide regular written and verbal execution status updates

  • System Architecture
  • Aerodynamics/CFD (Cart 3D, FNS Tools suites)
  • Trajectory simulation (OTIS, POST, or similar)
  • Aerothermal & Material response
  • Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS, NASTRAN, Sierra)
  • CAD
  • Matlab
  • Tecplot, ParaView
  • Planning, Execution, and Analysis of ground and/or flight test data
