Weight Room Instructor

Requirements

• Heartsaver AED certification (Required)
• Current certification from a national exercise training organization (Preferred)
• Education or experience in athletic training, personal training, fitness instruction or exercise science (Required)

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments for Fitness Profile and Program Design appointments.
• Answers phone calls at the Fitness desk and directs members to appropriate areas.
• Answers questions regarding exercise programming.
• Cleans exercise equipment recording damages or needed repairs.
• Organizes weight trees, straightens the fitness area, picks up towels, magazines and debris.
• Maintains and cleans work areas: Fitness desk, group exercise rooms and rest rooms.
• Circulates through the fitness area assisting members when needed.
• Provides blood pressure checks to the members upon request.
• Attends monthly staff meetings, annual in-services and vaccines as required by the hospital Kaweah Health.
• Informs management of problems or complaints regarding the facility.
• May be called upon to monitor Supervised Walking class.
• Reports damaged or out of service equipment to the maintenance staff.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
