Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Architecture in a program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Architecture
- License in any U.S. state and NCARB certification; or ability to gain NCARB certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering in a program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)
- NCARB Certification in any U.S. state is required for this position
- Proficient in the use of MicroStation or AutoCAD
Responsibilities
- Possesses the knowledge to make some technical decisions, with supervision, based on calculated risks with little management review; provides support to supervisor or manager to assist in making decisions affecting long range plans and goals based on analysis of input and outcomes.
- With supervision identifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to problems that are typical to the organizational unit and requires knowledge of facility design and/or problem-solving techniques.
- Assists in the preparation and presentation of the most designs, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management, professional organizations, etc.
- Possesses team building skills that extend through AEP, and other companies, professional organizations, regulatory agencies, and academia.
- Develops, recommends, and implements plans to address project issues within field of design expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture preferred
- Depending upon assignment, position may entail some travel and exposure to situations which require the knowledge, understanding and adherence to applicable safety procedures.
- May require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks to meet requirements and schedules.
